Goodness me, how on earth did that happen? I know that 2016 was... variable, to say the least, for a lot of people. Beloved celebrities passed away; politics went kind of weird. (I'm much more sanguine about that than a lot of people, so I'm not going to get into that now.) People's sense of certainty, of reliability, has certainly been challenged and I think it's safe to say that the future (which, to be fair, is always uncertain to some extent) feels a lot less secure than we're used to.
It's a good job we have SG then. Throughout the last year, this site has been a consistently positive and pleasant place in which to hang out, populated with friendly, wonderful people and, of course, some phenomenal photography. Honestly, I don't have the time to give anything like a full list of my own personal highlights of 2016. Below are just a handful of girls who, for a variety of reasons, really made my 2016.
I raved about @libris' His Girl Friday when it first came out and was subsequently delighted to see it picked up and Libris become a Suicide Girl. This set simmers with class, style and a seductive sensuality that is utterly mesmerizing. Libris is an erudite, imaginative, thoroughly engaging woman. This set, photographed by the always amazing @gemmaedwardsuk, is ample proof of that.
@marlene's Pure Morning was a set of the day in February last year. Marlene possesses the kind of delicate, haunting beauty that stays with you long after you've seen her photographs. Not only that, but she's a wonderfully nice person, too. She had a good 2016 and I'm hoping for more amazing stuff from her this year.
@lorii becoming an SG was one of the year's highlights for me. She's an astonishingly pretty girl whose confidence and posing have gone from strength to strength with each successive set. That trend continues with her latest set, Frisky In The Kitchen, which is simply phenomenal. It's currently in MR and well worth your time. Bask in the glorious beauty that is Lorii, truly a magnificently beautiful SG.
Finally, @Jacqueline remains one of my favourite SGs. Her sets are always exquisitely beautiful, imaginative and incredibly sexy, and her dark eyes constantly smoulder with the kind of sensuality that is utterly bewitching. My favourite set of hers last year was Without You. Shot by @aymi in subtly muted light, it presents Jacqueline in a tender, heart-searingly beautiful way and only deepened my appreciation for this phenomenally gorgeous woman.
That's it for now. I'll try to gather a few other pics from 2016 over the next day or so, but time moves ever on and there are sets being put up now that demand attention, too! But that's this site for you - an overflow of loveliness!
Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to a great and glorious 2017!
