yes sadly HFS a pretty ok radio station in md/dc is gone. but honestly people, how often does this happen to a radio station (93.1 hardcore rock to country?!) im really irritated by people saying "did you hear about HFS??" yeah, i heard the change over at noon that day. because i was listening. well - only half way, i was in the car @ the time on the phone. but i think, people who are only just now getting to know that what was once an alternative station gone pop mix, now a (rather good) spanish station, are obviously people who dont listen to the station. which is reasons it left. the reivews sucked
all HFS had going for them was HFStival and MS Nutcracker. i only ever went to HFStival once myself, and that was for free on my birthday (yay for winning employee contest via eminem @ Sam Goody) HFS's morning show sucked. seriously Elliott had all the reviews. "hear it, or hear about it" and that much is true. the music was getting to be mix station-ish, who needs another mix station? which is what they thought. they were loosing money sooo they sold thier station to become spanish....worked in the transfer now HFS is working with 105.7 to combine efforts to make a better mix station, think 106.5 back in the early 90s. that station was on everyones radio.
but we must admit the new 99.1 is now a very decent spanish music channel - i still have it programed in my car.... and listen to it... they play good salsa and merengue and pop and they have good signal.. 99.1 i can get from north of bel air maryland and south of richmond virgina. and its not spanish on the am that sounds like its bouncing off the stratospheres from mexico its self.
thats all i had to say.
