Having my own place for the first time - even if it is only a small cottage - has inspired me to engage in a little gardening. I have helped plan and designed english country gardens for my Mom and a few of my friends. And, I have engaged in some water gardening as well.
One of my absolute all time favorite nurseries in the Bay area is Annie's Annuals - it is a truly unique nursery. They are located in Richmond, CA -- near San Francisco, but you can order plants by mail order as well. They specialize in plants that are hard to find and unusual. http://www.anniesannuals.com/
Having used them for a number of years, I've found flowers, shrubs and trees that -- I'd never seen or grown anywhere else. I've found that Annie's Annuals has produced some wonderful plants to create focal points or novelties that can make an ordinary landscape design into something extraordinary. If you love going to nurseries, I have to recommend this as a stop if you are ever in the Oakland or San Francisco area. Check on the website for one of the many fun family events frequently sponsored at the nursery - in fact their next event is July 11th and 12th.
I'll be following up with some pics of my garden this weekend.

I just one minute got an e-mail from the school. They want someone with experiance and aren't willing to train because they need someone immediately. Since I don't have experiance as a swim instructor they aren't going to hire me.

Yeap, sure did. I tried both of those and a few more plus I've actually been riding into places and asking in person. It's rough out there be thankful you're still employed.
