Jesus christ I hate cars.
They just don't make any sense to me. People tell me that they are responsible for building our present economic might and I hold back. They aren't responsible. The fact that America places such unfaltering value on innovation coupled with our infrastructurally scarless victory of WWII is what made us the economic power we are today. Cars are just backwards and stupid.
Traffic is worse. Oninotaki once said traffic is a bunch of people following the "leader" only the leader doesn't exist. I'm going to up date that theory.
Traffic is everyone on the road hurling themselves as quickly as possible toward the next red light.
Cars turn socio-economic (and it's socio economic and not just economic for a reason) sub structures (well, actually, sub sub structures) in to a bag a trail mix. It may be sweet, but there's all this crap that doesn't need to be there.
The infrastructure requirement to move populations via automobile saps resources that could be better spent elsewhere. Cars are pre filled economic steroid seringe, complete with the heart disease and bloody nose side effects.
ARGH! If anybody says, "It's not the car it's how we use them..." I know that! But if we're going to talk first principles here lets just fast foward through our nihilistic/hindu spasm and say that our maya is to blame. (god i hope maya is the right term. if not, what's the right one, you know our perception of reality and our tie to it. what makes us hurt and hungry blah blah......"
