4. the self-proclaimed king of knowing how to use a credit card and not get in debt, got in a little debt. on the bright side of things, my two small girl kitties are spayed and dewormed.
5. i made this song as a joke, but it turned out really good. my bass player in my band (the playback) is working on lyrics/vox for it.
6. bought and consumed Stephen King's Dark Tower book XI. no one freakin told me it had come out in JUNE.
the next, and last one will be out Sept 21st. i'm starting at the first and reading them all in order. that should more than make up the time between now and then.
7. i'm going to see jimmy eat world this coming saturday. their new album is acceptable. i'm never keen on them right at first, though.
8. if you're looking for a good comp to check out new music, or unreleased stuff from bands you like, barsuk records (death cab for cuties' label) put out a comp called The Future Soundtrack for America. it's semi political, profits go to various liberal, forward thinking causes, and it's associated with move on.org, but it still looks damn good. everyone from blink 182 to elliot smith, sleater kinney, david byrne, the black eyed peas, the flaming lips, REM, tom waits, and on and on.
9. renewed my membership at SAM's Club, and we are well stocked on soda, capri sun, cookies and speghetti seasoning. *rock*

synth guide online?? hmmm Mark Vale's the dude to look for -- anything he's written. He's got some excellent gear guides as well as some theory and operational stuff. I hate to say it, but brushing up on the sound theory will make learning and using synthesis a helluva lot more intuitive... anyway, here ya go.
