I should've never looked up theMegan's Law website. I looked up my address on the site and found that there are 5+ registered sex offenders living on my little street. 
I know that one guy across the street from me was convicted on multiple counts of rape by force, sexual battery and sodomy with a child under 14. A real jewel of society (ultra sarcasm here). 
It also makes my welcome mat seem much more appropriate than ever before:
