Dammit, isnt there a way to not get tits in the face when you want to login? Im at a public computer lab for christssake.
Anyway, made it to Italy to be a nanny and its a godawful nightmare. The 3 year old twins know NO English, although they were supposed to, and I know almost no Italian. Its basically unsafe, in my opinion, to even be expected to care for them without communication. The other day the girls foot was stuck in something underneath the table and I didnt even know what she was saying to me, the poor thing. Theyre also obviously special needs children who were born prematurely, and wear diapers! Either of these 2 would be fine if I had known about them beforehand, and once again were able to communicate with them. I feel like Im working with Helen Keller.
The icing on the cake is that:
1. the moped I was promised use of is not in use and uninsured
2. it appears my "private room" promised in the contract will be turning into a room shared with the twins, in a BED shared with the twins once the current nanny leaves
3. oh, thats right, I didnt want to get paid I guess, because after I got here I was informed she cant afford to pay 2 nannies, even though she requested I come during the last 2 weeks of the current nanny to get accustomed, so I wont be getting paid until he leaves, and after I work an entire month, which puts us somewhere in late September. Oh, and the days off promised? Not going to happen either. I am basically the slave to a lazy ass "journalist" who doesnt work, but lives off the family's wealth.
4. the family went to the beach for the weekend, telling me to help myself, but locking me out of their part of the house and the kitchen and its 45 mins of bus rides into Florence if I say, get the crazy idea that I would like to eat something or drink some water.
ARghhhhhhhhhhh!
So, F this nanny job. Im in the process of looking for a room to rent in Florence, which is more difficult than it sounds. Blast for not speaking Italian! And I need another illegal job, or at this point, a freaking plane ticket home. I would settle for a friend.
