So last night at work we had 2 patients on our floor code and die. IT WAS INSANE. I ended up having to take a body to THE MORGUE!!
The first one happened right during shift change and the Tele Moniter Tech saw the patient dropping on the moniter. The nurses ran down to the room, called the code, the crash team came but they couldnt save the poor guy. That one was relatively quick the funeral home came and picked him up.
Then at around 10pm we x-ray came and took a patient down to Radiology and about 5 minutes later we hear the overhead page "code blue in X-ray Room 4". The nurse started freaking out and was OMG thats my patient!!! There are 6 x-ray rooms all of which are used heavily round the clock by ER. So our charge ran down there to see if i it was ours and sure enough. The lady was a DNR so as soon as the orders were verified they stopped CPR and she went pretty quick. Then we had to notify the family and have them come view the body. It was very sad about 10-15 people came to view her. They decided to donate her prgans per her wishes. SOOOO we callled life gift filled out all the paperwork and when the family left somehow got roped into taking her down to the morgue. Since I work night shift at the hospital we dont have anoyone on staff in the morgue. This lady from the lab had to come unlock the door so we could take her in. The whole thing was very disappointing. I thought the morgue for a hospiital wouldl be bigger but ours is justo ne autopsy room with one fridge. I had to trandsfer her onto the metall tray stretcher and I almost dropped the lady on the floor!!! It was awful..
Im the fucking SECRETARY!!!

Its cool the place you work at isn't a regular office gig and the environment is a bit off, but it would suck to do things that only medical personnel should probably take care of.
Hope it goes well and you don't see too many bad things happen, but it is a hospital.
Good luck!
