Well the weekend is over, which of course just sucks, they are never long enough.
I saw a report this morning on the news which really makes one aware of the impact of what is happening where I work, I work at a military base that has fallen prey to the most recent BRAC, and there are about 1500 people here who are going to lost there jobs, those are people on the gov't payroll, but there are about 4K people whose jobs will likely be moved to other locations, and then there are about 18,000 other jobs that support this base and the functions on this base that are held by outside contractors and other service providers, so its going to be a huge hit to the economy here in Central NJ for sure.
The sad thing is that these jobs won't be replace with equal or better jobs, they will likely be replace with nothing more than low paying service type positions, which will further affect the economy here. What makes this a real problem is that this is also one of hte most expensive places to live in NJ.
Oh well what is one to do.
