Christmas...
Christmas was good, much better in fact than I thought it might be. No fights, and the only screaming was done by children too young to know what an "inside voice" is. I got an awesome long-sleeve Harley t-shirt and calender, tools (can always use more tools), the coolest one-cup coffee maker ever, and 150 bucks I promptly spent at Best Buy. Speaking of which, I need to update my wishlist.
This year, and I've said it before, has been both good and bad. I've gotten more accomplished it seems in one year than in the 12 and a half prior. Amazing what can happen when you go somewhere and don't bring a TV. It was trying, though. I'd never questioned whether or not I wanted to keep doing what I do, but I did this year. BLAH, anyway... I met some fantastic people, people that I'll have in my life for the rest of it. I'm thankful for that, and I'm thankful for you guys. Thanks for the help.
New Year's is right around the corner, and I have high hopes for this one. So much so that I may just break from tradition and stay up late enough to watch the ball drop. I think I'll call somebody very close to me as well. I wish you all health and happiness in this New Year. I believe this one will be a keeper.

And there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last"

I'm just playin devil's advocate. I actually just made all that stuff up yesterday while I was standing in the shower. That thought started with the phrase:
"I bet somebody is going to come up with ...."
In keeping with the totally fictional and hypothetical situation,
"Their" goal behind the action was not to kill a bunch of terrorists, but to give the muslim world something else to concentrate on, a distraction.
In this fictional account, the small crew of researchers responsible for the experimental test would have no way of guaging how large the resulting earthquake was going to be, (if there would be one at all) all they knew was that they could just give the earth a little tectonic nudge and if anything in the region was close to going, it was going to go.
They wouldn't have required the energy to replicate a 9 on the richter scale, they simply would have needed the energy required to trip it. Akin to the energy required to push a teetering 400 ton boulder off the edge of a cliff over a town.
My post wasn't to put the theory out there for serious contemplation, I was just saying "Watch and wait, somebody soon is going to be putting this out there."
(That's if the aliens ever let them get off that damned ship.)
This year is full of questions without answers, except for the most important one, and the answer is yes, I do...
