if there is one person you can't stop thinking about, put this sentence in your journal.
Monday, start of the second full week of September. I can't believe it's September already. It seems like just yesterday I got off the plane here, and three months from now I'll be getting paroled. I must be honest, the year here hasn't been nearly all bad. I'm getting promoted, earned a degree, saved some money, learned a bit about myself and met some pretty incredible people. Autumn starts on the 22nd. Autumn is my favorite season, followed by Winter. Fall, though...that's the good stuff. Halloween, Thanksgiving (say what you will about the history of the holiday, the food still rocks), fall colors, cooler weather, the smells, and so on and so on. I'm curious to see how the colors play out here. In Alaska it's as if the forest caught fire for about two weeks, then it was over. In Virginia it seemed as if the leaves just died and fell off the trees. I can't wait for the leaves to turn here. My apologies for rambling, but today was so...non-typical that I can't really come down from the relative euphoria. There are very few days left like this for me here. The man gets back on the 16th, and I imagine a month of hasn't dampened his dis-spirits. Gotta go, people to talk to. Love to you all.
