So, 25 replies to my last journal. Actually, it was about 20 posts worth of on-line conversation (Thanks, Josephene), and 5 replies to what amounts to nothing. Besides, I don't need 25 posts. I'm a simpleton, err, I mean simple man, and 25 is a bit much.
I have 16.66 weeks left here in Korea. Anybody that's been away for a long while can empathize with me on this. When you first get to where you're going to spend 3 months to a year, you feel lie it'll never end. Once you get settled and get working, time just flies by. Then you hit that point where time stops, and no matter what you do, you can't seem to get through July. But less than 17 weeks is a good thing, and when I get to nine, I'll be stoked.
I have a friend here who has a girlfriend back in the world. They kinda broke up when he came over, and when he went on leave, they got back together. They're fairly serious, and she's looking to get assigned to where he's going (he's going to California, she's on the east coast). He's leaving here in about two weeks or so. And in a cruel twist of karmic Air Force fate, she goes to Qatar for four months five days after he gets home. I never wonder why people leave the service in droves. This situation is nobody's fault, really, just sadly circumstantial, but things like these have a really bad affect on some people.
