Well, I'm feeling a little better. The sneezing and runny nose are all but gone. I've got a little congestion left and a slight cough. Other than that, things are good. The sun is out, it's warm, not hot. The humidity is down. It's probably the last beautiful day until September.
Today is Memorial Day, when we honor those who've served. Today I think of my father, my uncles, my brothers and sisters-in-arms serving here, in the States, in Iraq and Afghanistan, and everywhere else they are called to serve. I'll think of them, and occasionally I'll choke up because of the sacrafices made. Fathers, Mothers, brothers, sisters, not coming back. Service members coming back, but not as they were. And even birthdays, holidays, Mother's Days missed. I'll choke up, not with saddness, but with pride; because I'm in the company of Heroes.

Nice things to say about Memorial Day. Unfortunately for me, I was simply reminded of my need for lower gas prices as I took a 2 hour round trip on public transportation.... By car (which I cannot afford the gas for), it would have been a 30 minute round trip.
Ah well. Hopefully everyone's dying for something more than my hopeful future transportation ability.
