So, a new outside consultant has come into our company to teach everyone about social media and raise our companies profile within the social media environment. Now it seems ridiculous to me that a video games company needs this, as to be honest, our C.E.O. could have just asked a few us more social media savvy peeps about any strategies, but nonetheless she is quite interesting and I am learning some stuff.
One of the things she is teaching us about, to raise our social profile, is blogging. Now to be honest, as I'm sure you are all aware due to my lack of posts, I don't really have the patience for blogging. I usually can never think of anything interesting enough to write, or at least believe that no one would want to read what I have to say.
Anyways, looking into blogging more, I read an incredibly interesting article someone sent to me by a very popular blogger called 'Pioneer Woman'. Not really my type of blog, especially seeing as it has a focus on cooking and my cooking is limited to Campbells Chunky Soups and
Meatloaf and
Burnt Bacon. However she is enormously popular in the blogosphere, so I decided to read her 'Ten Important Things I've Learned About Blogging'. It was a fascinating read, (so if you are into this sort of thing I urge you to take a look) and basically the vibe I took from it was that it doesn't need to be a chore, which is how I treat it sometimes.
Anyways, I feel reinvigorated. So, along with my own personal blog and the blog they have asked me to write for work (apparently I'm interesting...clearly they don't know me too well!), I'm going to try and update this more.
Famous last words...
