If you're a British Columbian, you probably know what I'm talking about when I say I'm going to Merritt this year. Normally any other day in Merritt (population: 8000) would probably consist of people sitting at their local donut shop watching the traffic light turn from green to red.
Fortunately for one week in July, the city of Merritt magically transforms into Canada's own little country-music Woodstock, with a little bit of Burning Man thrown in for good measure. Mostly, its all about the party.
My friends go every year, but I really don't like country music or the cowboy mentality. However, they assured me that everyone is awesome and friendly, and you don't even have to listen to the music if you don't want to (the party is way too loud). So this'll be my first year, as a Merritt Virgin. Good times.
I'm dedicating this summer to the party. I worked 40+ hours every week last summer and got to do fuck all while everyone else was floating down the river in tubes and camping and having fun. I will not miss it this year.

Perhaps you could find time to do another set at the river while you're at it. Just saw yours for the first time and I have to say you have fantastic ink and a most adorable face.
