It's only Tuesday and its already been a bizarre week.
Long story short, some magazine published a photo of mine with no consent or credit, and removed my copyright from the image. I emailed them, non-threateningly I might add, and asked what was up with that. The editor apologised profusely because she was away having a baby while this issue was being published. She was very personable, and understood my frustration. After all was said and done, she offered me some freelance jobs because she liked what she saw. So yeah. The whole world isn't so bad after all.
Or maybe it is? Last night my friend Katie went to go home. Sounds easy, right? About a block away from her house, the police had the block barricaded off, and she wasn't allowed to go to her house. Her family was home. She asked the police if her family was alright, if anyone was hurt, and the cop told her that he "couldn't comment on the state of your family at this time." Jesus, is that really neccessary? She almost had a fucking heart attack seeing her street blocked off and cops running around with guns and riot gear. She came back into town and phoned home, everyone is alright... but I guess there's a hostage situation at a house across the street involving a drug bust or something. I hope everything turns out alright.
Then I find out that the other night, some lady was beaten to death by a fencepost and left in the parking lot at KFC. This city is turning bigger every day.
But its gorgeous outside and I refuse to sit at my computer all day. So see you kids later. xo
