Wow. Fuck.
All I can say about 2004 is that I feel like I grew up a little bit. I can look back on 2003 and shake my head a little, anyway. The only things that won't ever change are my close friends, my family, and my tattoos. Some really good stuff happened this year... but some really shitty stuff also happened. The playing field is even. I've got nothing to lose in 2005. But it's the end of an era. The first year Dick Clark won't be hosting New Years Eve in a thousand years.
About those resolutions last year. I know I said I was going to get skinny. But I say that every year, and I never actually do it. This year I'm not going to say a damn thing about it and suck it up. I also say that I'm "never going to drink again". And we all know thats just a big fat morning-after lie. I said I was going to start on my sleeve this year, and I did. So that one came true. I guess I just wanted it more than any of the above. <3
One resolution I definitely need to fulfil is to communicate more with my family. I have a really big family and it's hard to always talk to everyone, but you just never know what tomorrow will bring. My best friend lost his dad last night. It just reminds me that as much as you think you know what's coming around the next corner, you just don't, no matter what. Don't let regrets hold you down. Do what you can, when you can.
Happy New Years.
