My brother and his (now wife) asked me to take photos at their wedding. For those of you who don't know, I've been shooting weddings for the better part of eight years; through word of mouth only. I don't really advertise, because I really don't enjoy doing them that much. =) But I figured it would be a nice wedding present for them, instead of having to shell out for another photographer.
Augh, let me tell you. Worst shoot ever. It's hard to focus on photography when its your own brother's wedding. All the family, distraction, and partly trying to enjoy yourself... it just doesn't work. Thankfully they only wanted a couple of photos, which I got... but I set a 'goal' for myself with each shoot I do, and I did not accomplish it. So I will forever be disappointed in myself for that. But they're happy with them, and I guess that's all that matters. Yea?
On a similar note, I need new photo equpiment. =)
What was the last thing you did that made you disappointed in yourself?

May not help - but there are TONS of people who get pro wedding photographers and HATE their pictures. That happened to my neighbors, and the bride got all dressed up again almost a year later and got me to take more pictures of her and she ended up loving them. Maybe you could do that with your brother and his wife? Have an afternoon where you go around to different spots just snapping photos of them?
Last thing I did that disappointed myself, apologized for something at work which wasn't my fault, and I shouldn't have....I fucking hate business politics, I'm completely NOT made for office life I'm to blunt, honest and opinionated.
I did the right thing business wise but I didn't do the right thing personally.
