I haven't written much here in a while -- and the last time I did, things weren't exactly going swimmingly -- but I feel like a bit of shameless self-promotion here. In the past several months, I've worked my ass off not only writing a novel but literally starting my own publishing company. It's officially legit now, with a federal tax ID number and a Texas state sales tax number. Keep Publishing Weird (fellow Austinites will get that, hah) just published its first book (my own, of course, though I'm working with a couple people I know to publish a photography book and a cookbook, respectively). That book design aspect of my MFA is finally paying off in a big way.
This initial book is a science fiction novel, the plot of which you can read below. I'm rather proud of this. I'm currently working on a website, through which sales will be able to be made, but in the meantime, if anyone wants to buy a copy, they can either use our PayPal account (email address: zooropa_83@hotmail.com) or send a check through direct mail to:
Keep Publishing Weird
7800 Southwest Parkway Unit 1210
Austin, TX 78735
Price is $15, but I'll pay for the shipping myself. I'll even sign it and write a personalized message, if you'd like!
So then, things are certainly better than they were the last time I posted an update. How are y'all out there in SG Land doing?
