When shit like what I've detailed in my previous two posts is on my mind, one of my coping mechanisms (as they say at work) is my Krav Maga training. This is me gearing up:

My Krav classes are pretty much the only place where (even in my mind only) I'll allow myself to physically vent the thoughts and feelings I have toward some of the crueler kids I work with -- thoughts I won't even admit to to anyone else. I'll think of the kid like I mentioned in my last post, who I want to protect, and then I'll think of the other kids who are trying to hurt him. That mix of hate and love (so to speak) keeps me going when I'm spent, and keeps me focused from getting too soft and too hard.
