I have a job that doesn't pay shit, but makes me feel good about myself, and makes me feel as though I'm doing something good for other people. I'm lending a hand to those who really need one. I can't save them, but I can be good to them in a dire time, and be one of those people who comes through when everyone else in their lives have failed. (I work at two different homeless shelters, if anyone who doesn't know me or my work happens across this little blog here).
So here are my questions:
1.) Why do I always feel so bad after failures on the dating scene (the majority of which, though not all, are not my fault)?
2.) Why do I believe that there should be some sort of karmic retribution that will allow my sports teams to win, when I already know that the least-deserving teams (in terms of karma) will sometimes win everything?

That's great about your job. Feeling fulfilled like that on a daily basis must do wonders for your general well-being and sense of self-worth.
