After about 2-3 rather unproductive weeks, I've actually been able to do a good amount of writing in the past two days, and just today I realized that I'm just past my projected halfway point. That comes a lot sooner when you're shooting for 70,000-80,000 words as opposed to almost 150,000, like my first book....
Still haven't heard whether or not we've been approved for the new apartment downtown. I'm about 95% sure we will be, but my girlfriend has fallen in love with it, and so by extension has begun to worry that something will go wrong and we won't get it. Her worries are starting to rub off on me.
I've also actually managed to pull down some hours at work lately. My store has been scaling back on payroll like crazy, and every shift is understaffed, but fortunately one of the guys who works in receiving just quit, I think, and I guess my managers have finally seen that I'm both a good and hard worker, so I kind of got picked to start working back there. It's great, mostly because it's the one part of the store where, even with cutbacks, you'll still get a good amount of hours, plus you don't have to put up with any damn customers, get to wear what you want, and get to bring cafe drinks back there. It's hard work, but it makes the day go by quicker.
TIme to open up a bottle of wine tonight, and try not to drink the whole thing....
