Last weekend was great, if not tiring. The whole six hour drive to Chicago will do that. Next time we'll head up a day early to get some rest. By the time we got to Chicago we had enough time to relax for an hour and head to the United Center. We met some very nice guys in the cab who were from the Netherlands who flew all the way to Chicago to see the Bulls play. That's some serious dedication. It's also nice to hear that someone from across the world got into Basketball and the Bulls, thanks to Jordan and the early ninety Bulls.
The game was great. The Bulls were down and were playing horribly in the first. The Bench Mob came in for the second and pulled it closer. By the fourth, the Bulls had pulled together and had the lead. I had the misfortune of sitting next to a Sixers fan who was obnoxious until the game got away from them. He yelled, I yelled louder. The whole section was getting on him, and honestly he deserved it.
My wife and I had so much fun, we've decided that we'll be going to a game once a year. Next time, it won't be on Sat Patrick's day though. It was insane trying to get a cab, which was a whole interesting story in itself. Let's just say we got led off by a guy who was getting cabs for people and we ended up in a not so pleasant location. All ended well though and we made it back to the hotel, tired and hungry. We planned on getting up and walking down State Street the next morning, but we laid in bed all morning.
This past week has been rough. I'm not sure if we have been tired or stressed or what? It's just been one of those weeks. Plus work has sucked. I'm working on a particularly boring project and looking at the same reports day in, day out wear me down. Then getting an assignment tossed at me at the last second. And I've had this foreboding feeling all week. You know that feeling that something is coming, but you don't know what? It feels like a storm. Of course it could and probably is nothing.
This weekend has been great so far. My wife and I took our son to the zoo. We had a great time. He's getting so big and independent. He wants to do everything on his own now. It's a hard feeling to see your son growing up quickly. However I think he's doing very well. He listens to us when we tell him to do something. He even shared his fish food with another little kid. I have to say I was very impressed with him doing that. He was so careful about placing it in his hands.
We got back and he took a nap and my wife and I had some fantastic couch sex. Which was going to be a make-out session, but it kind of got out of hand. In a good way of course.
After our son's nap, we hit the park and played a little basketball and came back for supper. Overall this has been another great weekend and I'm hoping it continues into next week.
