i saw the weirdest movie today: palindromes by todd solondz(?)....if you are reading this and u like good movies do not go see this fucked up movie. todd was aiming at some kind of social satire about abortion, christianity, and hypocrisy...and more pedophilia.....i just didn't get it. except for the fact that todd has some kind of hard on for depicting pedophiles in a way that makes you feel creepy that you are watching the fucking thing and not leaving the fucking theatre. but i was trying to get the most creepy shit for my 6.75....and i left puzzled. i've seen all of todd's previous work so why not this? this was not the same quality as his other films. the acting was more stilted. the actors that played aviva, the main character, all spoke in a baby-like voice. sometimes it was hard to tell what they were saying....maybe because the sound guy was fucking up a little too....this is going too long for a movie i didn't like.
i also saw enron: the smartest guys in the room....i'll sum this up succintly....these guys invented something called mark-to-marketing(?); a future earnings idea where they would basically see how much the made the year before and then assume that they would make a greater percentage the next year. wild fucking percentages! they did this for years, fucking up every now and then but they would just come up with another idea to make more money. this is going long too and i don't know how to get anymore descriptive than say
they raped kulifornia, as the guhvenor would say, for 30 billion dollars. and the traders who did it, enjoyed it and laughed as california weeped.
there was this mom and pop store that i went to as a kid and adult for different things....they're gone. they couldn't afford the electricity to keep the milk cold or anything else for that matter. the cool thing about this place was that it was a drive thru mart. you didn't have to get out of the car ....i don't know what else to say.

I also fully agree with your comment on the thread. You said much of what I wanted to say but much more succinctly/poignantly than I could pull off. As you can tell even with this...I get long-winded. Ha.
If I cussed alot, I'd cuss like you do...just the right amount of emphasis.
I had never heard of the first movie until last week when another member or SG talked about it. She didn't give much of a review of it, she said she just left with a headache. I guess that wasn't a good sign. Pedophilia is making a huge come back in movies as of late. I saw The Woodsman finally. I'm still not sure if I liked it or not. I mean I am all for second chances but shit. I am not sure if I could ever be friends or work around pedophiles even if they are trying really hard to fit back into society.
