Death and how it effects people sure is fucked up.
I found out this morning that my 16 year old cousin who has been fighting off cancer for two years finally passed away. I never thought it would actually happen.
For the past few years she has been paralyzed from the waste down, and has had a better outlook on life than anyone else Ive ever known. A week or two ago she began to loose the use of her arms and she only seemed to be upset that she wasnt going to be able to write her exams at school this year. They would have to wait untill she had adapted to not ebing able to control them. She loved to draw.
The finality of it only set in an hour or two ago as I was talking too my Mom on the phone. I was out of contact all last week working out of town so untill I stopped off at my parents house and spoke with my Dad on the way back to Ottawa I diddnt know that she had taken a turn for the worse. My mother and brother had left the day before to go see her when they heard things were getting bad.
Anyways I think that thing the Simpsons made fun of, the 7 stages of death might actually have some truth too it. It really does hit you all at once.
Life really doesnt stop for anything. I cant think of any better advise than stop and smell the roses, because you never can tell when those roses arnt going to be there anymore.
