Back to work today, yay lucky me. Suprisingly most things were in working order. My boss has been in hiding, closing himself off in his office, retreating from the daily tasks he gets paid for. Only emerging to rattle the cages over where we went to lunch, or someone putting 745 on their time sheet instead of 730. Hopefully one day soon a loud bang will come from his office....
Imbelishing there a wee bit, it was a long day, sifting through emails, mostly of no importance. It took me roughly 2 hours to catch up on a weeks worth of missed work. I really do need a new job. Techie field gets really boring with the enviornment gets stagnet. There is only so much challenge to configure an NT server after 5 years...
One of the worst things for me returning from a vacation is the lack of sleep the first night back. I was spent Sunday night, yet only managed to fall asleep about 130am. Up at 6am to hit the exercise bike.... Yes the 4.5 hours are taking their toll.
Damn MLB manipulating a good thing for the sole sake of marketing. Yes that's great a World Cup of Baseball, but do you need to ruin the homerun derby to hype it?? Who would you rather see, Hee Sop Choi or Adum Dunn? Jason Bay or Albert Pujols? And the U.S. rep? Mark Teixeria, way to represent and hit a whopping 1 shot out. At least you beat the Canadian (Bay = 0)
Oh well. After last year's World Series and the filming of Fever Pitch on the field during the actual RedSox victory celebration, one should not be suprised that even the great institution of baseball has fallen prey to the marketing machine...
