My left ear is still ringing from standing to close to a speaker at a show last night. I went to see a couple friends play last night with a couple other bands at the Practice Space. First I'd like to talk about the Practice Space. Its in the old mainstreet portion of town above a beauty shop. My brother and I walked in and starting going up some stairs, it wasn't until we took a turn and see a couch adn some cats that we realize we're in someones house. Then a voice calls to us from somewhere and I ask if we're in the right place. We were. This place was so cool, it was so chill. Nice lighting, broad spaces, art everwhere. This guy just welcomes bands into his place to jam.
The first band was a guitarist and a drummer, very skilled and cool instrumental music. A lot of it had a great classic sound, like Jimmi almost. Then my friends band came up, The Occaisons, they totally rocked the place. The last band was from chicago, and while skilled, wasn't my type of sound. I can only describe it as epileptic; I couldn't groove.
But I go home for break tomorrow. And I should pass my classes this semester, I was worried after all the class I missed do to money problems and stress.
Happy Thankgiving friends.
