My SG babies, let me tell you a little bit about what Ive been doing in my online absence...
#CoOwnaz - an artist collective directed towards creativity and community. Musicians, rappers, artists, painters, advertisers, filmers, producers, photographers, etc... mostly made up of myself, my roommates, and about 75 of our incredibly talented and lovely friends. Some fantastic examples are groups like Cold Men Young, Passalacqua, and indie band Jamaican Queens, artists like my roommate Kid Vagabond recently showcased in the Red Bull House of Art: Detroit & featured on the Detroit episode of American Idol, & my neighbor Nic Notion who is a painter and an eclectic artist, who shot Danny Brown's "OLD" documentary, my roommate Eddie Logix, one of the greatest producers to come out of Detroit lately, bringing in names like Paradime (Kid Rocks DJ) & Kuniva from D12, The Right Brothers, made up of Andrew Miller & Jamin Townsley who film most of our projects as well as many pieces for Team Detroit, check out Doc Waffles music video "Paintings of Cats", Jamaican Queens "Kids get away", the Passlacqua documentary "Groove with Us" or the short film "A Girls Guide To Detroit", and many many many more. These people are my life. They make Detroit better, and they make me better. I am not a religious being by any means, but I feel so blessed to surround myself with the most incredible people this state has to offer. If you are into local music and the underground Detroit scene, check 'em out, you won't be disappointed. If nothing else, its entertainment. But we hope for something more in years to come.
