I know, its been more than a minute. Would you believe I've been so distracted that I've hardly had time to stop off here and check out nekkid chicks? Let alone talk to you people . . . February was busy, but I suppose my distractions have been more mental than anything else. Trying to get things in my life in order, and as such, playing here on the internet has had to drop a few rungs lower on the totem pole of life.
But I can never stay away for too long.
First off, peace to men who make history. . . .
Although perhaps others have done it in smaller promotions, this is the first globally-recognized MMA "duel champion," simultaneously holding world championships in two different weight classes. To achieve said milestone, he defeated someone who reigned as champion for an unprecedented SIX YEARS, and in that time, the former champion took on the toughest competition he was offered. To boot, this was a rematch from six years ago, when the former champion won a relatively decisive decision. Now, with the two combatants tied 1-1, there will most certainly be a third and final "rubber match."
One week later, this man won an unprecedented sixth world title, and he beat someone 12 years his junior to do it. He is the oldest world champion in MMA, past or present. Nobody in the sport has held as many major world titles as he has, and aside from the guy above him, nobody in the sport had held world titles in two different weight classes ever.
The punchline to this coincidence of history is that they once trained on the same fight team.
I don't think I could do justice to the milestone of the sport, but I encourage you to read up on Dan Henderson and Randy Couture. Great work, fellas.
I owe a few of you updates. You'll get them when I do.
Still .
