All that Jazz
Last week in my Music Listening class we went over Jazz. I learned allot. One thing I didn't know was that Charlie Parker was addicted to heroin. Yeah there were bizarre stories about that. Anyway I wrote a poem about Charlie Parker last year, while I was listening to his song Autumn in New York.
My teacher liked it allot. So I thought I would share it with ya.
Jazz on the Moon
Who is this thats stands before me in the twinkle of winter
so the trumpet declared in its roaring toots
bring down the waning moon to ilume the hall of players
for I can carry the melody in tune to move the beating of your heart
It cries to be heard upon the heroes of everyday strife and kept quiet
after each step is exstinguished
The brightest day upon snow casts a lively afternoon
but while these hours exist soon
the night will be sounded by the lazy trumpet playing for the moon
