I am so tired of weddings; I went to two this weekend. The first one was my best friend's wedding in the town of Potchefstroom where we grew up. It was nice and small and intimate. Not to much stress on the ceremony and a lot on the party. It was great fun, the weather was perfect and I looked all sophisticated in a suit. The second one was a tradition wedding, so on Saturday morning we packed our bags and went to the Freestate. My girlfriend hates the Freestate, she says there is nothing there, no roads, no trees just miles and miles of farmland. I kind of like it, there is something romantic about endless space all around and the stars, by God, the stars Anyway, there were about a hundred people (lot's of old ones) it was at a lion park It's just not my idea of a wedding; the ceremony was about two hours long and really pissed me off, the preacher (my friend who got maried's father) had this whole thing about no one taking pictures in respect to god and blab la blab. He managed to fuck up a beautiful passage in the bible, making it all about god and nothing about love, I mean what the fuck! Yea god is great, but a wedding should be sweet and stuff, not about the jealous god that would strike down with great vengeance and furious anger, leave that stuff for the church on Sunday (I'll get to that later). After the (long and tedious) ceremony, where we all got to stare straight into the Freestate sun, the couple went for photo's so provisions were made for the rest of the guests to watch the rugby (once again, What the Fuck?). Finally it was reception time and time to party, right? Wrong, speeches, speeches, speeches by old folks that I'm not even sure the couple knew, each one telling a story, quoting the bible and then singing some dry hymn, luckily the one younger dude got up and said; "can we at least give a yip-yip-hooray. So we did! Then finally came the food (we got stoned earlier because we were just so bored and had mother fucker munchies), Ah this was the up side to the traditional wedding; food, food all you can eat, from there on it went smooth, like all weddings we got pretty drunk and had some good times. Anyway so the next morning we went to church in Reits (imagine the smallest town you have ever been in, divide it in two, and there you go..) Ok, I'm not going to talk about this; It makes me want to vomit. But the cool thing was we got to see Tigers and baby lions, witch is always great. The wedding photos we took goes like this, Tigers about 100 photos, 10 wedding photos, lions 50 photos, 10 wedding photos, Tigers 100 photos.. You get the picture. If you are having a wedding where there are lions and tigers what do you expect. Anyway
Today I am glad to be home, I managed to sprain both my wrists last week, so I look totally emo with bandages around both wrists. It's amazing how many people want to 'Talk' to you when both your wrists are bandaged. Now you are probably wondering (or not) how I managed to do that; a sports injury? No! a fucking videogame injury, playing games 6 hours on end led to getting RSI in both wrists, now I'm pissed at playing games cause I can't play guitar and that's all I really want to do.
Well this turned out to be one hell of a blog, I would have said more, but all this writing is scaring of potential readers. What do you think is my blog too long?????
