I would say you should then take up, learn, and master a new hobby whilst you wait to travel.
Having one more ability couldn't hurt, and it would make you feel accomplished, rather than frustrated and wasted.
I would recommend Learning a dance (corny, I know, but exercise+being able to randomly bust a move @ some opportune moment=awesome), learning meditation and proper breathing techniques, or perhaps knife throwing, or the handling of a butterfly knife...that always amused me....
