A FEW STARS, NO AURORA... TONIGHT
In the past three weeks we've had a total of maybe two nights where at least a few stars were visible.
If it were darker you could likely see a faint green glow in this direction (north), but it appears to be lost in the other background light.
More activity is predicted for the next couple of nights. Maybe there'll be a hole in the clouds?
It's a 30 second exposure which is why the stars have started to form trails. The orange color is skyglow from town a few miles away. You have to get 20-30 miles away from town to get rid of it completely. However, it's more or less to the south, so on a clear night with aurora to the north or overhead, the skyglow usually isn't a big deal.

yay, drink it in honor of jack. he was a wonderful man who talked to me until i fell asleep many times when i was in a bad place. at least his pain is gone.
