After sooo long time, I'd add another blog entry. I haven't done that for quite too long, so here we are.
Lots of stuff happened, most of which is irrelevant. I found some time to hack on VAX software, even to attend to a computer hacker's meeting where we hacked as a team. This was fruitful and fulfilling like I haven't seen it since long. Shouldn't take too long to get really useful userland up'n'running, including threads, libm, you name it. These days, I was also said to get yet anoter machine sent to me, it might take some time, but it's one of the more interesting boxes. Though, that's it on the programming side of life.
Pets. Or should I say "animals"? But lets start at the beginning. I'm reading (again!) a lot of stuff about chamleons and it seems they're my kind of breed. Though I still didn't manage to build a housing or to even buy one, I will, at a some time. (But read below, the "flat constraints".) On the animal side of life, there was a quite sad day two weeks ago. The girl and I, we already knew that our dog is a fast runner, and she already tried to hunt for a rabbit. (She never catched one, though.) But at this very special evening, after sitting on the stairs (inside the house) for more than a quarter hour, waiting for us to free a book from my girl's postbox, she escaped while I entered the floor. (I stood outside.) Half an hour later, Maja came back--with a white-redish rabbit in her fangs. That one still wore her leading cord. Called the police, and some two hours later, a mommy and two childs stood in front of us, screaming for their rabbit. I brought it to them some time later on. (As we heared later on, mentioned rabbit used to escape and run around, they were off the house for some shopping.) Sad story... And it'll make all the anti-hunting training quite harder...
And then there's the search for a nice flat. The girl and I decided to live in a new, common flat. Should be simple, you think? Let me tell you: It isn't! 100 to 120m, balcony, large cellar, near do my girl's pony, to the university where she's preparing for her promotion and near to my employer. Should have a decend bath room, a kitchen with enough space, and (other than living and sleeping room) two more rooms for both of us, thus four rooms in total. We looked at two more flats this evening, but as routine goes, no luck. The first one featured a smoker and it smelled. No way I'd like to live there. And the secone one was somewhat nice, but cost calculation was way off. 580 cold, plus some 85 for insurances, plus 35 for parking, plus heating and electricity. That's >900 in the final price, thanks...
Though we didn't find a nice flat tonight (we will, at some time!), my weekend was nice. On Sunday, I met Sarah again, together with her boyfriend (and some of his family), which was quite nice. And she'll probably finish her education these days and I'm invented to their finishing party Aaaaand the very best is, it seems she and her boy are preparing for a wedding! I'm quite happy about that, because her boy is quite okay (kind of similar to myself), and he gets a nice girl Contrats, for both of you!
Thats it--for now.
