Spent the weekend getting my Geek on with the LA Live Action Role Playing group. We had a big convention out in Ontario, California and over two hundred people showed up.
200 FUCKING GAMERS!
To make it even better, we were sharing the hotel with a group of like 100 Jehovah's Witnesses who were also there for a convention. So you've got a group of freaky religious zealots staring down an even bigger group of freaky people in costumes running around pretending to be vampires. Needless to say, hijinks insued and I got some of it on video.
Apparently I also apparently scared a group of them into a spontanious prayer circle where it was heard that they were heard muttering something about releasing the hotel from the grasp of Satan, needless to say I was proud.
Also, on the way up to Ontario while stuck in stop and go traffic a guy pulls up next to us and yells across to my friend Devin in the back seat, "Hey, I'll trade you a beer for a cigarette!" IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 210 FUCKING FREEWAY!! I swear to god, seriosuly, beer for a cigarette on the freeway and he actually had the beer in hand.
