Well, registed for my classes for next session. I got screen writing class, which means I gotta start workin on ideas. My one big goal is to make a horror movie that will really scare the shit out of people. There hasn't been a movie like that in a long time. I'm talkin the kind of scared where even after you leave the theater you're looking over your shoulder and turning on all the lights in the house for a week or so. Unfortunately, horror has also become very cliche in recent years. The days of the good old slasher movie are over, and bad computer animation now reigns over make up and prostetics (Sorry, 30hrs of no sleep makes my spelling suck more than usual.).
I want to make something that people will look up to, something unique. So thats where all of you come in
For anyone actually taking the time to read over my worthless dribble, I am now asking for your help. I want to know what you find scary. Not that creepy awkward feeling kinda scary, but the kind of scary where you cover your eyes and hide. I know it sounds wierd but it would really help me out. In case you need a little help, here's somethings that might give you a running start.
1. Who was more terrifying: Freddy Kreuger, Jason Voorhees, the Alien (As in chestbursting nasty acid blooded meanie-head), Hannibal Lecture or the Sentinels (Matrix squid robots).
2. What is more likely to scare you just by hearing it: the killer/creature taunting it's victim, inhuman growling and snarling, mechanical clicking and whirring or total silence.
3. Should the killer/creature be: human(or resembling human), beastial, insectiod, mechanical/biomechanical.
4. Mask, scarred/maimed face, deformed, all of the above?
5. Weapon of choice: Big freakin blade, blunt object, biological weaponry (Claws and teeth), whatever happens to be around at the time.
Anything else you can think of or just feel like adding in will be very much appriciated.

2. the contrast between the silence and the loud noise is the best way to get an audience to jump outta their seat. Blair Witch had no soundtrack. Granted, not DEAD silence, but no foley, no other sound effects to speak of. The creepy children sounds and screaming kid sounds mixed with the dead silence of night added to the terror. People fear uncertainty more than anything else.
3. I've severly entymophobic. therefore, insectoid anything scares the shit outta me. "greys" -- the classic aliens -- have always given me nightmares, and i think it's due to the fact that they're insect-like.
4.once again, we fear what we can't comprehend, so I subscribe to the masked or obscured theory.
5. biological. I fear the beast.
2. Total silence.... ICKKKK
3. Human, it's easier to be scared of something you can relate too.
4. All of the above.
5. Whatever happens to be around. Creativbity and spontenaity is the key!!
