I may have mentioned it before, but every morning when I wake, in my half-asleep state I stupidly try to flex my ruined fingers. The searing hot blast of nerve screams instantly wakes me more than my coffee addiction ever could. I'll never look at Paul's trial the same again.
Not the most ideal way to start one's day.
I have a feeling the board game I will attempt to design is going to involve Antarctica, but more in a semi-cooperative survival sense. As I learn about the early explorers to the continent, I become increasingly fascinated by the place as well as the people. I'm drawn to board games based on real history anyway, so I'd like to go for something that gives a nice nod to Shackleton's incredible rescue mission after the Endurance was crushed in pack ice.
What a fitting name for a boat; Endurance. Exploration of the world had its questionable moments, sure, and tends to be romanticized by many educators, but if there is one thing that holds truth with blatant evidence, it's that the human race has endured an incredible amount of pure shit to get to where we are today. Between natural risks and our relentless but silly efforts to try and kill each other, I am often amazed that we've made it this far. Of course, there is still a long way to go before the world realizes that, together, we'd be unstoppable.
Even my idealistic side has a point, sometimes.
