I try not to focus too much on the political realities of this country. Ironic, in that I am involved locally and, last year, worked very hard for John Kerry. But what is happening under the current administration has begun to consume me. It is almost criminal, and seems to be getting worse.

Iraq and Katrina have demonstrated the insensitivity and ineptitude of those in charge. We can do so much better; we deserve so much better. I am discouraged and angry and embarrassed.
