My name is Yellow, not because I’m a frightened little thing. My name is Yellow because it’s vibrancy known to charm the gods. I will fully admit my attitude is attributed by my admiration of the Suicide Girls. This platform has inspired me with full confidence from the day I discovered it.
It was 2020 and the world was ablaze with Covid. Masks are on faces and we have to rely on our personalities. Life as we knew it completely stopped. I was 70 lbs heavier and recovering from Covid and I stumbled upon a now fellow hopeful suicide girl @oncebittenkitten.
You would have never known the masked woman under polo and cargo sweater would be the powerful force to inspire me to model. It wasn’t even a thought despite my flirting with it in my 20s.
I was not on social media due to insecurities and seeing this woman do her thing completely veiled and confident had me stunned. I didn’t even know what she looked like but I knew there was something surprisingly wonderful about her to be discovered. She was a treasure wrapped in a corporate uniform.
One day she revealed she was a model & showed me pictures. Not only was she gorgeous, she was relatable and she was real. Her strength to unveil her self had me thinking I need to join her in this wave of empowerment.
Since then I’ve modeled or photographed every week and feel fulfilled artistically.I have also lost 70 lbs and I’m one of the only people I know who didn’t gain during the pandemic. It’s been wonders for my self esteem & I would never turn back.
