Ruidoso....fun fun fun. Used to go snowboarding up there all the time. Also, dated a girl from there you might have known...Becky Van Winkle. Yeah, I ran screaming from the state as well. Just went back in December to pick up the rest of my stuff leftover from storage. Had only been sitting there for something like 6 years! I do miss Mexican food, though...and the desert at times.

Surviving Alamo wasnt that difficult. Hell, I only lived there for a year and a half! On weekends we had drunken punk parties in the desert or arroyos with a generator, a home stereo blaring DK/Black Flag/Circle Jerks/Big Black, tons of whiskey, and tons of fun. Did the white sands thing quite a bit too, as well as Las Cruces and El Paso. My only mistake was not moving back to Philadelphia/Eastern Seaboard for college after the fact...though I did meet some great people in Cruces (and never went back to Alamogordo either).

As for the Chili's, thats the ONLY thing I really miss about the area. The food was to die for....I think I mentioned this, but I went back in December to pick up my crap from storage in Cruces. I STUFFED myself with mexican food like you would'nt believe. We're talking about going next year and driving up I-25 through Hatch, Elephan Butte, and on to ABQ and Sante Fe. Its MUCH more fun now that I dont live there fulltime!
