Alright, well I know that I said I was posting Thursday after the "interesting" week. Well, unfortunately my meetings are not done yet. I have two more on Monday and then hopefully I will know what I'm doing here. Right now it seems as if I have two options:
1. Withdraw (take a leave of absence) for the rest of the semester and then maybe take something over the summer or just start over brand new next year.
2. Stay enrolled taking just one class at a time and then take one class over the summer and then next year I'll only have half of the classes that one would normally have as a first year. Basically this is called "extended curriculum" and it is where a student takes their first year over the course of two years.
There are pros and cons to both of course. Right now I think I'm leaning towards the 2nd option. The only problem with that option though is that if I screw up anything that I'm taking between now and June I could get dismissed (kicked out) from Upstate. If that happens my medicine career is over. I could still go to PA school or Xray school or something else similar, but damn it that's not what I want to do.
The decisions are quite difficult to make and honestly they are stressing me out worse than medical school was stressing me out. On a side note I was speaking to my mother the other day and she mentioned that she thinks I have developed some depression from when I had mono. This is very likely, since that's how I've been feeling. Hopefully she is going to get something to take care of this for me. She said she had a couple people to call about it first.
Well, that is about it for right now. I hate leaving people in the dark about what is going on, but this is one of those things that is just so hard to explain to everyone and when everyone is constantly asking you what's going on it just drives you nuts.
Alright, that is all from me for now. Hopefully I will know more on Monday and be able to give a full blown update on what I will be doing. Between now and then all I can do is debate it in my head and maybe go skiing on Sunday.
Hope all is well with all of you! Peace!
