Well, things are looking up here.
I've received one job offer so far although I don't think I'm going to take it because it is 45 mins away on semi-back roads and in the winter that will be a horrible drive. It is second shift - eh.... Finally, it is less pay than my previous job.
I applied for a few positions last week right here in Geneva at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station. It is affiliated with Cornell University and if I can get a position there then it would ultimately help me with grad school also. Plus, the NYSAES is only about a 5 minute bike ride from my apartment and the pay would probably be more if not equal to my last position. I'm a little overqualified for those positions but I think based on my background and experiences that I will be a really good fit for those positions.
Other than that things are pretty much the same here. I can't wait to have some money so I can do something and maybe hook up with some local (or semi-local) SGers.
Drop me a line if you're going to be in the Geneva area.
Peace!
