Ok...so I'm in this music marketing class at my school and the teacher is real cool and all. She really seems like a nice person. But there are times when she says stuff that will completely lose everyone in the class.
For example, tonight we talked about promotion and how certain mediums (radio, television, paper ads) all can have different effects on your target market (the people you're trying to reach out to). Some people respond more to television than radio. Some respond more to paper ads than television. Well, tonight, while I'm writing down notes, she starts going on about this word ethos or something like that. She goes, "Does anyone know what that means?" Everyone at this point is like, "Huh?" I'm not shitting you. This woman went on for 8 minutes ON JUST WHAT THAT WORD MEANT. By the time she was done, my mind was like, "Lady...just get to the point." The whole discussion about that was pointless. So we learned a new word. Great. I got my money's worth for this class.
But not to sell her or the class short, I am doing really well in the class. Actually, I have an A in the class which I haven't gotten in ANY class in quite a while. So that tells me two things:
1) She's a good teacher.
2) Music and marketing are two things I'm good at.
Now all I have to do is finish this project so I won't have to take a final which, by the way, is always the kind of opportunity that gets points in my book.
