Ugh, spent too much money this weekend. Sprint has a deal where they'll give you a $150 off a new cell phone if you've been a customer in good standing for a certain length of time. So I managed to get a $250 phone and belt clip for about $100. My old phone was ok, but it lost the backlight. It was impossible to read in dark light, and the battery was starting to hold less of a charge
Also I ordered a 40 gig Tivo unit yesterday. The actual unit was free if you paid for the full year's subscription off the bat. Normally I would be hesitant but right now there is three people living in the apartment, and Sundays (probably one of the best nights for television with Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad and Adult Swim) being the night I typically do stuff with friends, so I figured it would be a useful investment. And if Smallville and Lost go back to back again this Fall, I won't have to chose (Sorry Smallville).
But I worry. I'm moving into a new apartment by the end of September and I'll be on my own. I should be able to cover it, but having that money saved would have been smart. I also hope to purchase a washer & dryer shortly after moving in, and that $250 I blew this weekend would have paid for nearly half of that. =/
Blah, I'm probably just being nervous, I am good at keeping my head above water, but not great at saving money. But I think I'm going to try to tighten the belt a little. I canceled World of Warcraft yesterday (I'm keeping City of Heroes, at least for now), I'm gonna try to eat more stuff from the grocery store and not fast food, and try to keep away from places like Best Buy where I might be tempted to splurge again.
Why can't I be a kid again where my parents took care of all this stuff?
