Busy, mixed weekend. On Friday Mike's girlfriend was out of town and he had bought her a ticket to a diner show, so Mike grabbed me and we went instead. However this wasn't an ordinary dinner theater, but rather a Pirate Murder Mystery. Lot's of audience participation and humor here. And considering Mike bought the tickets, I got a free dinner and pretty good show.
Then on Saturday I saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse. This was not a good movie, but it was an entertaining one. If you saw the first one and enjoyed it odds are you'll like this one about as well. There's plot holes and stupid logic ("We're being chased by zombies, I know let's go run through the graveyard!"), but somehow I enjoyed it more then the first one. My only regret was that Jill Valentine, whom was one of the main characters in several of the video games was basically reduced to a supporting character so that we can focus on the movie's "Mary Sue" character: Alice. Yes, yes, Alice is an uber zombie hunter now, I'd rather see more of Jill thanks. But still the movie was an entertaining, if brainless (appropriate for a zombie film, no?) action film. Much better then the disappointing AvP.
Then on Sunday it was my brothers birthday and I had dinner at my parent's house. It was a wonderful suppper. My dad got some steaks that tasted wonderful and melted in my mouth and the twice baked potatoes my mom made were good too. Unfortnetly I had the beginnings of a cold starting and my throat was sore so I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I would have if I hadn't been feeling sick.
Yesterday and today my cold has gotten worse and I want to just sleep, but duty calls and I have to work.
