I think I'm quickly becoming addicted to this site, its way better than Friendster, but still no friends yet.
Bought an awesome camera for $20, and two flasks covered with stenciled sakteboard grip tape ($3 for the pair). I wish I had some Palenka, which is Transylvanian moonshine. I spent a month there this past summer and discovered amongst other things that you can apparrently make turpentine from plums and people will drink it. Its almost as strong as 151.
I had some great experiences there and in the 2 months after when I went to Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and a day in London. I imagine there are not too many people that can say they drank a beer in the house where Vlad Dracul grew up, spent the night in a castle in Transylvania on the night of a full moon, or that their 23rd b-day was at a monastery in the mountains of rural Bulgaria.
Truly some amazing experiences. I miss travelling.

I actually, in all honesty, have no idea where in Romania my family comes from. I call them mountain people coz they live in the NC mountains. However I do know that long long ago (like hundreds of years ago) my ancestors lived in a Romanian mountain region. I just don't know where. They've been living in the Appalachian mountains ever since, though, and making moonshine, and hauling moonshine, and getting arrested for making and hauling moonshine, ever since they arrived. I personally don't touch the stuff, seeing as how there is no telling what they put in there.
