I just had one of those moments of nostalgia.
Remember the greatness that was 1997-2000 in movies?
Remember all those great coming-of-age teen movies? Remember how not one of the actors in those movies were a teen? As I look back, I really wish my four years of high school were like any of those movies. Let's name a few. Scream, Scream II, Scream III, I Know What You Did Last Summer, IKWYDLS II, Cruel Intentions, the second one... wow... they all had sequels! Wait, not Varsity Blues! Who could forget American Pie... the high school version of National Lampoon. Jesus there are so many more movies... anything with Freddy Prinze Jr.
I guess when it comes to TV you could just watch Buffy.
The bulk of the teen-angst movies were in those 3 years, but they drabbled on in the early 2000s. Now right now it makes me feel old, all these movies coming out 10 years ago. But I was thinking to myself... that's what we thought high school would be in 1998 (I wouldn't be a freshman in high school until 2000). We were sad when it wasn't like that at all. We were sad when Silverchair didn't make it up to us in the year 2000. It's weird how 2000-2008 went a shit load quicker then 1990-1998.
Anyway. I miss those old days.
