first usually start out with something quite interesting, a heading or a point most people miss, to keep you audiences' eye. then go into a deeper discussion on your own point of view. make it seem really intellectual and cool so the audience will warm up to you and find you a little more interesting than the average bear. show points of reference maybe, to make it seem as if your well read and know what your speaking about.
also don't distract people with statistics, it will usually end badly because it will seem stereotyping. lastly keep it light, and ask the audience what there view is. because we all know how much people like to talk about themselves. plus it will help in befriending peoples that you may not usually "hang" with or even get a chance to know on a regular daily basis. oh, and one more thing. end it with a quote, this will give the members of your discussion something deep to think about. god bless.

also........
"how things are.......... and how things seem........
how things are........... and how things seem.......
the things you say, and the things know..........
the things know, don't have much say, in the things you do.
................and the things you do, don't have much say in the, .........how things are..........
how things are,
.......................how things seem." -BH
