Ok so i have just finished the first season on Carnivale the HBO series, and i am absolutely in love with this show, i actually watched all 12 episodes almost straight, if sleep and food weren't necessary within my daily life. Now i am incredibly anxious to go out and get the second season, cause i know it will not disapoint.
But what makes me sad is that i know that after i watch the next season that will be it, because once again a brilliant television show is canceled while hours and hours of garbage flood the airwaves. I have herd that because of low ratings the show was dropped from its six season contract, as many other shows far before its time.
Now i must say that at least we got 24 episodes while one of my other all time favorites Firefly only got 13 episodes,(although they did get a movie). But what makes this horrible is that America's Got Talent and shit like American Idol can get millions of viewers the entire nation watches this crap, and while this mass plague of stupidity is blanketed over America, good shows are dropped and their fans left to toil in internet chat rooms, hoping for a movie version if they're lucky (Fingers Crossed on Arrested Development).
Obviously i can't do anything about this, and i understand that these big networks are all in constant battle, but as a long proud geek, i have to say that it is just upsetting. If only these loyal fan bases could develop quicker these shows would be running in their entirety.
But i encourage all of you to check out Carnivale if you haven't already, it's truly a work of art in all aspects of the word. And thank anyone who is reading this, (which i kinda doubt there is) for letting me rant, once again.
