and it's Easter! Have some compassion!!
I missed out on Easter with my family so that I could go in to work, be put in the room that gets cut first (and it did in an hour and a half of me being there) and have three tables that could not even be bothered to tip 20% on this joyous of holidays. bah humbug!!!
I went snowboarding again, this time at Camelback. Except I kind of regressed after all the progress I made the first time I went. I was too much of a pussy to ride with confidence after my last run last week ended with a major wipeout. I was just so afraid of falling that I wasn't using proper technique, which just further frustrated me. Last runs of the day I was more than happy to sit off to the side of the snowboard park and watched Brian go off some jumps...and watch other people fall of jumps which was quite amusing. Then I sledded down the remainder of the trail. wee! We may go to Hunter for my spring break, but I will be skiing so I can actually keep up and not spend half the day on my ass
Easter was yesterday for me since I had to work today. We were also celebrating my grandmom's 80th birthday. She's a real pill but she means well and has been a great caregiver for all of us. She's still going strong after two bouts of cancer...and she works a part time job at Burpee's! she's so silly. We told stories all night about the olden days. My grandfather's half brother, Jack, was there...and he makes me sad because he reminds me so much of grandpop (he passed away two years ago rather suddenly). We still haven't had a funeral or service for him yet. He was Agnostic (and so are a handful of the family) but I still want to have a service for him.
I finally saw Atonement the other day. Fantastic movie! I can't really compare it to No Country for Old Men because they were drastically different, but I think Atonement definitely should have gotten more props than it did at the awards. I loved the editing, and the cinematography of course. I loved how the story jumped around in time. No Country was fucking brilliant, but the ending was a bit disappointing. I mean that's how the ending was supposed to be, but it kind of leaves you feeling empty. Also saw Michael Clayton. It was good..but not amazing. So yeah...still need to see There Will Be Blood, and maybe some others.
NOW...I have to write a 5 page paper about modernism. jesus I hate school work. tryyying not to procrastinate.
boobies!
